Dear Friend,
Thank you for taking the time to consider joining our parish family. My name is Father Michael Fye, and I’m the pastor of Saint Ann Catholic Church and School here in Nashville, Tennessee. Whether you’re thinking about registering or are in the process of doing so, I want to extend a warm welcome and share how grateful I am for you.
Becoming a Parishioner
Registering as a parishioner is often a sign of a significant change or commitment in life. Perhaps you’ve recently moved to the area, or maybe you’re transitioning from another parish nearby. It’s also possible that you’ve been attending Mass with us for some time and have decided to formalize your connection to Saint Ann.
Whatever your journey, this step marks the beginning of something beautiful. By registering, you’re committing to being a part of the mission and adventure that God has planned for our parish community.
Why We Ask for Information
Some may wonder why the registration process involves so many questions. Rest assured, the information you provide remains private and is never sold to advertisers or other entities. We collect this information solely to serve you effectively and to ensure that we can meet your spiritual needs.
Accurate information helps us administer the sacraments, provide educational and formation opportunities, and support your spiritual journey. For example, clear sacramental records prevent misunderstandings, such as ensuring all requirements are met for Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation.
Additionally, your information helps us fulfill requests such as providing letters of recommendation for godparents or sponsors. Without a clear understanding of who you are and your involvement in parish life, we cannot responsibly vouch for individuals in good conscience.
What You Can Expect from Us
As a parish, we are here to serve you. Our mission includes:
Administering the sacraments: The seven sacraments are at the heart of our Catholic faith.
Providing formation and education: We strive to help parishioners understand and fruitfully receive the grace of the sacraments.
Fostering community: While community begins at home, we aim to create opportunities for relationships to flourish within our parish.
Offering Catholic education: Through our school, we are committed to providing an excellent Catholic education, especially to our parishioners.
What We Expect from You
Being a parishioner involves more than completing a registration form. It’s about being present, forming relationships, and actively participating in parish life.
While involvement looks different for everyone, we do ask parishioners to fulfill the five precepts of the Catholic Church:
Attend Mass every Sunday and on holy days of obligation.
Confess your sins at least once a year.
Receive the Eucharist during the Easter season.
Observe days of fasting and abstinence as prescribed by the Church.
Provide for the material needs of the Church according to your ability.
Supporting the Parish Financially
Financial support is an important way to sustain the parish’s mission. Contributions help cover basic needs like utilities and maintenance, fund new ministries, and provide for unexpected expenses like building repairs.
How much should you give? That’s for you to decide prayerfully. Whether it’s $10, $50, or $100 a week, the key is to make a meaningful commitment. Financial stewardship is a way to grow spiritually by sharing the blessings God has given us.
Let’s Connect!
I hope this message helps you understand the registration process and what it means to be a part of our parish family. It also serves as a small introduction to me as your pastor.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to connecting with you through our welcome packet or in person. It is my joy and privilege to serve and love you, not only with my own heart but with the heart of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May God bless you,
Fr. Michael Fye
