Music Ministry

The music ministry is made up of volunteers from the parish who lend their voices and musical talents to accompany weekend masses and other special liturgies.  We have a beautiful Schantz pipe organ which is used to accompany both the 5:00 mass and the 8:30 mass. The Saturday 5:00 mass has evolved in recent years from a traditional mass with organ and cantor to an ensemble that includes adults and students in grades 7-12.  Young singers are expected to participate in their school choir and must have some choral experience before joining the music ministry. The 8:30 ensemble sings traditional and contemporary choral music with SAB and SATB arrangements.  The ability to read choral scores and 4-part hymns is appreciated.  Rehearsals for this ensemble are Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. in the choir loft. The 11:00 ensemble is more contemporary, with keyboard, guitar and sometimes, light percussion.  Rehearsals for this ensemble are on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the choir loft. There are additional rehearsals for special liturgies and during Advent and Holy Week. We are always looking for musicians and vocalists with a love of the different styles of sacred and liturgical music!  Please contact Marcina Clark.
