Father Dominic Maximilian Ofori, aka Fr. Maxi, was ordained in 1999 for the Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. Since he came to the Diocese of Nashville in 2007, Father has served at different parishes, including St. Edward (pastoral assistant), Christ the King (priest-in residence), St. Joseph (administrator), St. Matthew (parochial vicar), and St. Pius X (administrator).

Father Maxi graduated in 2016 with a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, six years after obtaining a master’s degree in English at Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN.

A priest for almost 18 years, Father loves his vocation and the people he has been privileged to serve in God’s Church. He draws a great inspiration from the lives of his favorite saints, including the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, St. Dominic, St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe, and St. Thomas More. A firm believer that the Church must be for people and with people, Father Maxi has as his motto: Never miss an opportunity to do good.

Father Maxi is passionate about football (soccer) with Arsenal of England and Barcelona of Spain being his favorite teams. Ghana, the U.S.A., and Argentina are the three countries he supports in world football.

His birthday is March 26.
