In 1160, Maurice de Sully proclaims his vision for the cathedral.

In 1163- The construction begins.

1182- the apse and choir is complete.

In 1196- Maurice de Sully dies and the nave is complete.

In 1200- work begins on the western facade.

In 1225- the pose window is finished

In 1669- Reconstruction began.

In 1864- restoration was complete.

 

Notre Dame was first started to be built in the 12th century and was finished in the 14th century.  There were some additions in latter years like the gargoyles.  The gargoyles were built in the 19th century. Most restoration was started in 1669 and was finished in 1864. This historic landmark plots itself in Paris, France.

These are some of the gargoyles that are on the cathedral.  they were added in the 19th century. The cathedral went under reconstruction.  The reconstruction of the cathedral lasted about 25 years.

Is a gothic cathedral on the eastern half of the le de la cite in Paris, France, with its entrance to the west.
