Mrs. Sotiriadis

 

My name is Amanda Sotiriadis. My husband and I came to Nashville this past summer from New Hampshire. I graduated from Keene State College with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (specialty in Voice) and with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music History and Literature. I began teaching music to K-12 students in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire for one year, I then taught K-5 music in the North Shore of Massachusetts for three years, and I most recently taught K-5 music in Southern New Hampshire for the last two years. I have also directed a 2-6 grade youth praise choir for three years in southern New Hampshire.

I have been involved in many music, dance, and theater groups throughout New Hampshire since a very young age. Some of these such groups are: St. Matthew's Adult Choir, St. Matthew's Cantata Choir, Granite State Opera Company, Keene Chamber Singers, KSC Opera Workshop, KSC Chamber Singers, KSC Community Orchestra, KSC Community Band, KSC Latin American Ensemble, Reynolds' Dance Academy, and Majestic Theater Trust.

My most recent theatrical work has been with Crystal Production's rock opera, "A Song For Ireland" where I have held the lead role of 'Erin O'Connell' since the late spring of 2003. This production not only performed in the southern communities in New Hampshire, but also traveled to New York City for a one-week run at the St. Clement's Off-Broadway Theater in October of 2005. The 40-member cast worked together, unpaid, so that the production could raise money for the Friendship Project of Northern Island which works to bring together Catholic and Protestant youth to help in the relief of religious tension in Northern Island.

I am looking forward to a wonderful first year here at St. Ann's, and I am excited for all of the possibilities that are ahead of us in both the music and drama programs!
